Gas Fired
Kiln after Bisque Firing : Photo : Cosanti Foundation |
Glazed bells and tiles go through two firings. The
first is called a bisque and is at a lower temperature
than a regular firing This bisque firing prepares the
ceramic ware to receive the glaze. After the glaze is
applied, a second firing to a temperature of 2100 F
completes the process.
