"Stewardship is the caring
for those things which are the responsibility of the
steward. He keeps them in top form. It is said, man
must be the active, involved keeper of nature."
from Paolo Soleri's
Glossary of Terms
Acting as global stewards, we help in reducing the waste
of resources endemic to the packaging and shipping
processes of the conventional produce industry. By growing
and consuming food locally we nearly eliminate all costs
associated
with packaging and transportion.
A responsibility to protect our precious fertile flood plain
soil governs all land interaction in the agricultural program.
Growing food organically enriches the soil and protects the
adjacent desert and river ecosystems.
Utilizing appropriate technologies in our food production is
another step towards being "involved keepers of nature."
